RM60,000 subsidised diesel seized

KENINGAU: The police cracked down on this year’s biggest subsidised diesel misappropriation in the district, arresting two locals and two foreigners believed to be the masterminds.

Keningau Police Chief Supt Yampil Garai said the four men that included a Filipino and an Indonesian were arrested following a tip-off.

All the suspects were between 27 and 52. Yampil said the police monitored the suspect’s activities in Pampang and Kampung Durok.

“When the raids were carried out, the activity of transferring diesel to a lorry was being carried out,” he said.

The value of the seized items is estimated at RM60,000 – the first is worth RM37,500, and the second is RM22,500.

All suspects are being investigated under Section 21 of the Supply Control Act 1961.
