SHAH ALAM - The highest bid value for a Rolex watch belonging to former minister in the Prime Minister's Department (religious affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri reached RM135,000 when it closed at midnight on Tuesday.

Zulkifli shared the value of the bid in the comments section of a post on his Facebook.

"The bid for Rolex watch for Palestine has ended.

"Thank you to the bidders who bid.

"The highest bid amount was RM135,000," he said.

Zulkifli also said he would announce the name of the winner of the bid on Wednesday.

It was reported that Zulkifli auctioned and opened bids for the watch on the FB platform for two days starting Monday to be donated in full to the Palestinian people.

The starting bid price for the luxury watch given by the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud was RM40,000.

Zulkifli said the clock was given to him as a souvenir when he assumed the position of Federal Territory Mufti.

The clock box was only opened by him after resigning as minister in 2021.
