Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has made an outlandish claim regarding the quality of the league where he plays.
The Portuguese forward, who left Manchester United for the Saudi domestic club in the winter, has enjoyed a mixed first campaign outside of Europe.
Ronaldo recently stated that the Saudi league could be among the best in the world.
He stated in an interview after a 3-2 win over Al-Shabab about the Saudi league compared to the Premier League: We are much better. In my opinion, the Saudi League is getting better. Next year will be even better.
Step by step I think this league will be in the top five leagues in the world but they need time, they need players, they need infrastructure but I believe that this country has amazing potential.
They have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion."
