Rory McIlroy really struggled with his game during the third round of the Truist Championship on Saturday.
McIlroy caught fire on the second nine of his second round on Friday to vault himself back into contention at the Truist Championship.
And after he made a birdie on his opening hole on Saturday, everyone thought he was about to make a charge towards the top of the leaderboard.
However, Rory McIlroy ended day three at the Truist Championship 13 strokes behind the leader, Alex Fitzpatrick.

McIlroy seemed to have his mojo back at the Truist Championship until everything came tumbling down on Saturday.
The six-time major champion posted a round of four-over par 74 following a torrid run in the middle of his round where he made six bogeys in 10 holes.
Rory McIlroy’s ninth worst statistical round of his entire career
During his third round at Quail Hollow, McIlroy’s game was incredibly out of sync pretty much through his bag, aside from his driver.
Incredibly, McIlroy’s round on Saturday was the ninth worst of his entire career, statistically speaking at least, according to Rick Gehman.
The Northern Irishman played his 1,350th round as a professional at Quail Hollow on Saturday.

And he ended up losing a whopping 5.292 strokes on the rest of the field.
Considering the fact that he gained just over a stroke on the field off the tee, that will be a huge concern for McIlroy.
He hasn’t looked anywhere near his best this week in Charlotte, North Carolina, and with just four days to go before the start of the PGA Championship, he will definitely be worried by his form.
Rory McIlroy’s shocking stats from day three at the Truist
McIlroy’s only bright spark on Saturday was his driving, where he ranked 10th in strokes gained off the tee.
However, he struggled in every other department.
He was ranked 52nd and 72nd respectively in strokes gained approach and strokes gained around the green.
McIlroy’s putting wasn’t much better either and he was ranked 64th in strokes gained on the greens.
He was ranked T-68th for strokes gained total, and the fact that this was the ninth-worst statistical round of his entire career proves just how poor he was.
Hopefully Rory McIlroy bounces back at the Truist Championship on Sunday in order to give him a little bit of confidence heading into the PGA Championship next week.
