Catalan singer Rosalía has released a new song called 'Berghain', the first single from her new album 'Lux', that is due out on 7 November.
Inspired by the atmosphere of the legendary Berlin nightclub of the same name, the track sees her reunite again with Iceland's legendary pioneering popster Björk and experimental American musician Yves Tumor.
Berghain includes verses in German, English and Spanish, and a sound that combines organ, choirs and electronic bases. The video clip, directed by Nicolás Méndez, shows Rosalía performing different everyday scenes that are transformed into symbolic images charged with mysticism.
The new track marks the beginning of a more spiritual and orchestral stage, very different from the urban aesthetic of 'Motomami' (2022). The album 'Lux' will include 18 songs structured in four movements and will feature the participation of artists such as Carminho, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz and the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daníel Bjarnason.
The music video, filmed between Berlin and Barcelona, has notched up several million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours. The singer also made a surprise appearance in Madrid's Plaza de Callao last week to promote her work, with the album cover being projected on the screens in the square and on Gran Vía.
With 'Berghain', Rosalía reinvents herself once again and enters a more introspective sonic and visual territory, in which spirituality, sensuality and electronic experimentation converge.
