PUTRAJAYA - The Road Transport Department (RTD) confirmed that there is no element of system abuse or identity theft in the case of a Malaysian Digital Driving License (e-LMM) featuring a photo of a person with a different identity than the one named on the licence.

In a statement issued here today, RTD said the matter occurred when the information technology team carried out system maintenance work, which was done periodically, to ensure the sustainability of the MyJPJ system.

RTD takes note and apologises regarding the matter and that the department has acted immediately to rectify it, it said and assured that all information is protected and safe.

"RTD will always improve the system from time to time to strengthen the delivery of the best digital services to the people," according to the statement. - BERNAMA
