
Kota Kinabalu: The Department of Broadcasting Malaysia (RTM) Sabah continues to care for the needy through the RTM Ramadan Tour Programme.
Deputy Chief Minister III, Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya, said it did not only focus on services as a national broadcasting agency but also strived to fulfill its corporate social responsibility towards the community.
“The State Government greatly appreciates the seriousness of RTM which is always committed and steadfast in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility towards the community through various approaches.
“This kind of concern and commitment should be emulated by other departments and agencies and it should be continued in line with the direction of Sabah Maju Jaya and Malaysia Madani.
“Hopefully this tour can expand the community’s target and the location of the tour’s focus in the future as well as get more strategic cooperation from various parties,” he said at the launch of the RTM 1444h/2023M Ramadan Tour Programme here on Friday.
Meanwhile, Radio Programme Director, Nor’ain Bakari, when delivering the Director General of Broadcasting Suhaimi Sulaiman’s text of speech, said RTM Sabah was chosen for the first time as the launch location for the programme which would forerun the route to 77 mosques throughout the country during Ramadan.
According to him, a total of 11 mosques and suraus in Sabah would be involved in the tour location, namely three mosques each around Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, and Sandakan and two mosques in Keningau.
He said this year, among the mosques and suraus to be toured through SABAHfm, TAWAUfm, SANDAKANfm and KENINGAUfm Radio Stations are the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Kampung Kobuni Kionsom Inanam, Kota Kinabalu, the Al-Falah Mosque in Kampung Membalua, Tawau, the Sandakan District Mosque and Surau Al-Qayyum Kampung Limbawan, Keningau.
