American Masai Russell missed the 100 metres hurdles world record by two-hundredths of a second and Chinese teenager Yan Ziyi recorded the second best women's javelin throw of all time at the Diamond League meet in Xiamen on Saturday.

She is the fourth woman to throw beyond 71m and only Czech Barbora Spotakova has gone further with her world record of 72.28m.
Elsewhere at the meet, twice world champion Shericka Jackson of Jamaica dominated a star-studded women's 200m in 21.87 seconds from twice 400m Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas who clocked 22.04.
Former 100m world champion Sha'Carri Richardson of the US was fourth in 22.38.
