Rylan Clark stranded abroad as star issues apology to BBC listeners

Rylan Clark has revealed his desperate attempts to get home to host his BBC Radio 2 show after he found himself stranded abroad.

On Saturday (27 June), the 37-year-old apologised to listeners after becoming stuck in Nice, France, following a trip away with his boyfriend Kennedy Bates.

“I was flying back very early this morning. Went to the airport, and it was like, ‘No!’ And I was like, ‘Sorry?’”

Calling into Emma Willis’ show to apologise for his absence, Clark revealed that he had contemplated taking an eight-hour train to get back for the show.

He also confessed that he tried to get himself on a different flight by playing the “Do you know who I am?" card.
