
A Singaporean couple were killed after the Ferrari they were travelling in lost control, crashed, and burst into flames along KM57.5 of Jalan Johor Bahru-Mersing in Kota Tinggi, Johor, on May 9.
According to Sinar Harian, the victims were believed to be a couple travelling from Johor Bahru to Mersing at the time of the incident.
In a media statement, Kota Tinggi district police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said police received information regarding the fatal accident from members of the public at around 9am.

The accident involved a Ferrari driven by a 34-year-old Singaporean man, along with a 33-year-old Singaporean woman who was seated in the front passenger seat.
Ferrari reportedly lost control before catching fire
Yusof said the Ferrari allegedly lost control before crashing, causing both victims to suffer severe injuries.
“The vehicle then skidded and was involved in an accident, which caused both victims to sustain severe bodily injuries, catch fire, and die at the scene,” he said.
Their bodies were later sent to the Forensic Unit at Kota Tinggi Hospital for further investigation procedures.
Police are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Police also reminded road users to always comply with traffic laws and regulations to ensure safety on the roads.
