Perak MB Saarani Mohamad confirms his political secretary’s resignation, citing health reasons, amid social media rumours over alleged drug abuse
IPOH: Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has confirmed that his political secretary, Mohamad Hamidi Baharuddin, has resigned effective August 17.
Saarani stated that the resignation letter was received on August 10, with Mohamad Hamidi citing health factors as the reason for his decision, alongside needing time to seek medical treatment.
He made these remarks to reporters while addressing rumors circulating on social media linking his political secretary to a drug abuse issue, after officiating the Invest in Perak Day 2026 programme here today.
Saarani emphasised that he refuses to make any assumptions regarding the matter.
Recently, rumors spread on social media claiming that the political secretary in question was a drug addict.
