SANDAKAN: The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) is currently actively engaged in a study to rejuvenate APM, especially its functions and roles.
APM Chief Commissioner Datuk Aminurrahim Mohamed said Sabah has become the focal point of the study, which commenced in mid-October and is anticipated to be presented to the Ministry in February.
“Sabah was chosen as the most suitable platform for the study compared to other states due to various advantages in terms of assignments as stipulated under Act 221.
“This is because Sabah has both sea and land borders, islands, mountains, experienced earthquakes and underwent Operation Daulat, which may not have occurred in other states, or they have not experienced them for a long time.
