Kota Kinabalu: A Sabah Biomass Policy is being drafted by the State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry (MIDE) to further develop the industry.
Its Minister Phoong Jin Zhe said biomass produce such as bio-pallets, bio-fuels and bio-based chemicals have high added value.
“The State Government plans to develop a biomass collection centre and appoint a GLC to manage a consistent supply of biomass material or feedstock which will further attract investors," he said at a State Assembly sitting on Wednesday.
“We also plan to create a related enactment so that the regulatory power will be under the State Government."
