Sabah BN backs GRS on 40pc; Appreciates support in by-polls

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional conveyed appreciation to the GRS-led Sabah Unity Government of Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for its commitment, hard work and strong synergy during the recent by-elections which saw BN candidates win the Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state seats.

Its Sabah Chairman Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup stressed that BN Sabah’s priority is to ensure the full implementation of Sabah’s rights under MA63, including the 40 per cent revenue entitlement, strengthening state powers and the restoration of agreed rights.

“BN Sabah will continue to adopt a constructive approach to ensure all matters under MA63 are implemented comprehensively, in the interest of justice and Sabah’s future,” he said.

Besides Arthur, BN Sabah’s 2026 committee has Datuk Jafry Ariffin as Deputy Chairman.

The three Vice-Chairmen are Datuk Richard Kastum, Datuk Teah Heok Kuin and Chandrra Segar Soosaimany.

Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub was appointed Secretary, while Datuk Mohamad Alamin is Treasurer. Datuk Ir Abdul Aziz Julkarnain serves as Strategic Communications Director.

Datuk Noraini Idris heads the Women’s wing, Sufian Abd Karim leads the Youth wing, and Ummi Nabilah Jamal heads Puteri.

Committee members comprise Samasudin Yusop, Datuk Nik Mohd Nadzri Nik Zawawi, Datuk Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar, Mohd Ismail Ayob, Dato’ Fredie Sua, Datin Zainon Kayum Khan, Jessel Cyril Yansalang, Djuanis Mogirong, Fazil Ajak, Datuk Pang Kin Khon, Stephen Goh Thiam Boon, Lu Yen Tung, Chai Yee Fu, Guna Sekaran Rajangam and Ravi Margapandu. Arsad Mohammad Yusof and Yillson Yanggun were appointed Executive Secretary I and Executive Secretary II, respectively.
