
The number of flood victims in Sabah declined to 396 people from 126 families this evening, compared with 409 people from 110 families in the morning.
The State Disaster Management Committee, in a statement, said 247 victims from 73 families were taking shelter in temporary relief centres (PPS) in Penampang, while 149 victims from 53 families were evacuated in Beaufort.
In Penampang, the PPS still operating are the Penampang Sports Complex (58 victims, 16 families), Huguan Siau Hall (141 victims, 44 families) and Sekolah Kebangsaan St Paul Kolopis (48 victims, 13 families).
The PPS at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Datuk Peter Mojuntin has since been closed.
Meanwhile, all evacuees in Beaufort have been placed at the permanent relief centre in Selagon.
“A total of 22 villages were affected, comprising 14 in Penampang and eight in Beaufort,” the statement added.
