Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) returned with 10 golds, one silver and five bronzes at the 13th Silent Knight Karate Cup 2023 competition held at Titiwangsa Stadium in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend.

It was a much improved result from the juniors compared to last year in the three-day competition when they only managed five golds, one silver and three bronzes.

The individual gold medal winners this time were Marymhel Leonarda Aleasya Rodriguez Cachola (kata individual girls 8-9 years), Mohd Rayyan Razdsha Razali (kata individual boys & 35kg individual kumite 10-11), Nur Rasyiqah Fari’ah Razali (cadet female kata individual 14-15), Ryyen Ryye Gerrad Rojin (male cadet individual kata), Danish Rayyan Rajis (boys - 50kg individual kumite 12-13), Ivy Catrinaz Zurizal (girls - 42kg individual kumite 12-13), Mohammad Syazrullah Halim (male cadet individual kumite -52kg) and two team golds from the kumite cadet male and kumite boys Under-14 category.

Priscilla Elysa Philip (female junior individual kumite -59kg) was the only silver medal winner while the five bronze medals came from Adellea Zara Amani Subrih (kata individual girls 10-11), Danish Rayyan (boys individual kata 12-13), Putera Ray Nazwa Heryzuan (boys individual kata 12-13), Al Zovainz Zurizal (male cadet individual kata) and Nur Rasyiqah (female cadet individual kumite -54kg).
