
Kota Kinabalu: Sukma gold medalist Eidelweiss Franzel Fancey Sami was given a blessing by the Sabah Sports Council and Sabah Karate Association (SKA) to represent Sarawak together with three other state athletes at the XXI Sarawak Sukma Games.
SKA secretary general Julian Chin said in a statement on Friday that it was to give Eidelweiss and the others who were unable to make the state squad the opportunity to compete at the prestigious event after the Sarawak Sports Council officially approached for their release in February.
He also said SKA congratulated Eidelweiss for her success that helped to end Sarawak’s 24-year wait for their first ever gold medal in Karate.
