
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Mineral Management Sdn Bhd (SMM) has initiated legal proceedings in the High Court against its former Chief Executive Officer Jontih Enggihon and external party Tei Jiann Chien.
In a statement, Thursday, the State Government’s agency overseeing the mining sector in Sabah said the suit alleges serious misconduct including fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, document tampering and potential collusion.

“SMM is taking this step to safeguard its interests, as well as the State Government and the people of Sabah,” the statement said.

“Reports regarding the misconduct involving SMM’s former CEO, along with potential collusion with third parties have also been lodged with relevant enforcement agencies, including the police and the MACC, to support broader investigations into the matter and compliance with regulatory obligations.
