Kota Kinabalu: The seven Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) State Assembly members believe ensuring Sabah’s political stability is more important than supporting a planned Warisan-BN government created through the back door.
The Sabah PH leaders are Datuk Christina Liew (Api-Api), Datuk Fung Ming Poon (Tanjung Papat), Datuk Ewon Benedick (Kadamaian), Phoong Jin Zhe (Luyang), Jannie Lasimbang (Kapayan), Tan Lee Fatt (Likas) and Peto Galim (Inanam).
“We are following closely the political developments in Sabah and have held a discussion about the current situation,” they said in a joint statement, Thursday.
“We want to inform everyone that after 2020, we will not make a sworn statement in support of any party. If a party claims to have obtained a sworn declaration from us, it is false save for our most recent statement following the Sabah State Legislative Assembly in November 2022.
“We also voiced our stance and decision en bloc to guarantee Sabah’s political stability is built so that development governance and services to the people can be executed easily.
“Any effort to build a new government should be founded on a constructive agenda and good policies for the benefit of the people of Sabah. Otherwise, the people would be upset because politicians are regarded as greedy for power and a mere power grab,” they said.
