
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 117 new Covid-19 cases Monday, bringing the State’s total to 397,838.
State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said this was due to a high positivity rate of 11.21 per cent even though the number of sample tests dropped to 1,044.
“Kota Kinabalu registered an increase of new infections with 72 or 62 per cent of the total new cases in Sabah,” he said in a statement, Monday.
“Sandakan also recorded double-digit new cases with 11, while 14 districts did not register any new infections over the past 24 hours.”
All new cases registered on Monday were in Categories 1 and 2.
Monday’s new cases were detected through contact screenings with 11 cases, symptomatic screenings (101) and other screenings (5).
The State also registered 142 recoveries – cumulatively 390,102.
