Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 171 Covid-19 cases on Friday, a slight decrease from 178 the day earlier.

Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the State recorded only a marginal decrease despite collecting a lower number of test samples, as the positivity rate increased from 8.88 per cent to 9.37 per cent.

Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 34 cases, followed by Tawau (27), Lahad Datu (13), Papar (11), Penampang (11), Kudat (9) and Kota Belud (8).

“Kota Kinabalu remains as the main contributor to the caseload. Four districts did not record any new infections, namely Kalabakan, Nabawan, Semporna and Tongod,” he said in a statement, Friday.

He said 170 out of 171 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was recorded in category four.

No deaths or new clusters were identified.
