KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Immigration Shooting Skills Test "10 Stages," was held over two days from Thursday at the Sabah Shooting Association (SSA) Range in Lok Kawi.

Organized by the Sabah Immigration Department (JIM) in conjunction with the 2025 Sabah Immigration Director’s Cup, the event saw 52 participants from various enforcement agencies, including PDRM, APMM, Customs, Prison Department, JPJ, and civil shooters.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Garry Belayong Anak John Siki, Deputy Director of Immigration Malaysia Sabah (Enforcement), who highlighted the significance of the event in ensuring high firearm proficiency, among officers.

Jeson Yong, Area Director of IPSC Shooting Sports Sabah, shared updates on the development of IPSC shooting in the state, mentioning efforts to host a Level 2 match by next year and increase the number of shooting skills tests in Sabah.

In individual categories, Donny Martin Nyambar from Sarawak claimed victory in the Expert Individual (Men), while Intan Terpilih Gonterat from IPK Sabah triumphed in the Expert Individual (Women) category.

Other notable winners included Bonaventure Bius (Novice Men) and Mohammad Kausar Idris (Super Novice Men). SSA dominated the Team Event and secured both the Team Shoot-off and Individual Shoot-off titles.

The event marks continued progress for IPSC shooting in Sabah, which began in 2018 and has since grown, with a focus on promoting discipline and precision within enforcement agencies.
