Sabah's unemployment rate drops but remains highest in country

Kota Kinabalu: The unemployment rate in Sabah has dropped further but remained the highest in the country.

Deputy Human Resources Minister Mustapha Sakmud said the State’s unemployment rate currently stood at 7.7 per cent.

In last November, it was reported that the unemployment rate in Sabah dropped to about eight per cent from nine in 2021.

“The unemployment rate in the country is 3.5 per cent with 10.1 per cent of them youths,” he said after officiating the 2023 China Enterprises Career Fair at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, here, Friday.
