
KENINGAU: Sabah recorded 139 criminal cases involving children in 2022 which is very worrying, said Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) Chairperson, Datuk Dr Hajah Tarsiah TZ Haji Taman.
She said based on statistics from the Department of Welfare, Sabah’s indigenous groups contributed 104 cases with 100 cases of boys and four cases of girls.
“Drug cases are the second highest contributor to social ills with a total of 772 of which 704 cases involved boys and 68 girls,” she said, when officiating the Awareness Programme on Social Issues and Parental Responsibility for Children at a hotel, here, recently.
