KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has outlined its priorities for the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), aiming to spur economic growth through increased development spending and stronger inter-agency cooperation.

Head of State Tun Musa Aman said in his policy speech at the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday that strategic directions have been mapped out for Sabah’s development over the next five years.

He said emphasis will be placed on key sectors driving Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, forming the backbone of the State’s economic agenda.

To meet these goals, he urged ministries, departments, and agencies to align their planning with the new direction to address Sabah’s real development needs.

The government will prioritise development expenditure over operational costs to accelerate progress, with Tun Musa expressing confidence that broad cooperation will ensure a smooth and inclusive implementation of RMK-13.
