PAPAR: Sabah is expected to implement a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement for its public sector in line with the Federal Government’s directive, said Deputy Chief MInister cum State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic).
He said the State Government, through its finance and administrative offices, is coordinating the implementation ahead of the proposed April 15 start date announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Masidi said the arrangement may allow non-essential services to work from home on certain days of the week, similar to measures adopted during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the system would rely on the integrity of civil servants and acknowledged existing public concerns over accessibility to some government officers.
He added that the priority is to manage rising fuel costs by reducing travel, with details of the arrangement to be announced once finalised.
