Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Longevity Cup 2026 is set to introduce a new concept in golf, combining an 18-hole tournament with health, wellness, longevity education, corporate networking and philanthropy.
Built around the theme “Play the Long Game,” the event aims to go beyond the traditional corporate golf tournament by giving participants a broader experience — from health and performance assessments to education, networking, competition and social impact.
The tournament is expected to bring together golfers, business leaders, senior corporate executives, medical professionals, wellness practitioners, philanthropists and community stakeholders.
Ministers from the Sabah State Cabinet and Malaysian professional golfers will also be invited to participate in and support the event.
A key feature of the programme is the Golf Performance Handicap™, a new assessment concept designed to help golfers understand the physical capabilities that support their performance on the course.
“Your Golf Handicap measures your game. Your Golf Performance Handicap™ measures the body behind your game.”The assessment may look at areas such as body composition, cardiovascular fitness, mobility, strength, balance, flexibility, rotational ability, functional movement and recovery.
The goal is to give participants practical insights into their physical performance and areas they can work on to support both their golf game and long-term wellbeing.
Leading up to the tournament, participants and guests will have access to educational sessions covering sports injuries, recovery, preventive health, healthy ageing, longevity science and developments in regenerative medicine.
The programme may also feature wellness and recovery technologies and services, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, PEMF therapy, Ecolight therapy, lymphatic drainage and other wellness experiences, subject to professional guidance and individual suitability.
Through qualified medical and wellness professionals, the organisers aim to connect the golfing community with the growing global interest in longevity and preventive health.
For corporate partners, the Sabah Longevity Cup offers more than traditional logo exposure.
Partners can engage directly with participants through the tournament, health assessments, educational sessions, sponsored golf holes, hospitality, networking, wellness experiences and the Charity Gala Dinner.
The event will also have a strong social-impact component, supporting children with autism and their families in collaboration with Pusat Autisme Sabah (PAUS), Sabah Autism Society (SAS) and the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Kebajikan Am Sabah (JPKA).
This creates an opportunity for companies to combine business engagement with meaningful corporate social responsibility.
The organisers envision the Sabah Longevity Cup becoming an annual platform bringing together golf, health, longevity, business and philanthropy.
The initiative also has the potential to contribute to Sabah’s growing profile in premium wellness, golf and health-related tourism.
At its heart, the Sabah Longevity Cup is built on a simple idea:Performance today matters. But the ability to keep performing tomorrow matters even more.
