Kota Kinabalu: State Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said Sabah has so far received some 800,000 tourist arrivals, with foreign tourists accounting for about 80,000.
“The Sabah Tourism Board (STB) is actively preparing for the tourism boom in 2023,” Joniston said during a courtesy call by Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) led by its President Datuk Frankie Liew.
As such, Joniston encouraged SCCC to closely communicate and cooperate with STB, introduce more international business fairs and conferences and promote the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) as well as rural community-based tourism.
