KUNAK: The Sabah Government will continue pursuing its claims and unresolved matters under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), including the 40 per cent net revenue entitlement, at an upcoming meeting chaired by the Prime Minister this Friday.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the State will host the meeting to address the remaining issues, noting that 13 matters have been resolved to date, with nine settled under the current federal administration.
He stated that the Federal Government has agreed to the 40 per cent revenue entitlement, though technical issues remain subject to ongoing processes that will not affect the decision for Sabah to receive the payment.
Hajiji said these outstanding matters will be brought up for further consideration during upcoming MA63 negotiations.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Kunak Lipids Sdn Bhd phytonutrient extraction plant on Tuesday, he also noted that the palm-based facility—a venture under the Sawit Kinabalu Group believed to be Malaysia's first of its kind—is nearing completion and expected to begin vitamin E production before the year ends.
