Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah women’s football team came third in the just concluded Tun Sharifah Rodziah (PTSR) Cup tournament that ended last Sunday.
They bounced back from their agonising penalty shoot-out loss to Negeri Sembilan in the semi-final a day earlier to edge Selangor 1-0 in the playoff with the winning goal scored by Azzlyeanieh Kinuli in the 69th minute.
Team manager Datuk Dr Fadillah Sarbi in a statement on Wednesday praised the team and said that the players had put up a spirited display despite the tight schedule.
