Kota Kinabalu: A Sabahan man rescued from the clutches of Cambodian jobs scam syndicates arrived here on a flight from Kuala Lumpur accompanied by Luyang Assemblyman Ginger Phoong Jin Zhe today.

The 28-year-old divorcé with two young children in Luyang, here, was working as a salesman in Miri, Sarawak, when he received an extraordinarily lucrative job offer.

He then flew to Cambodia where he was instead forced to work as a scammer targetting people in China.

He was among about 100 people of various nationalities rescued during a Sept-19 raid by Cambodian authorities on a place where they were kept and forced to work as scammers.
