  • Manchester United could pay sacked manager Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff an additional £15.9m following his dismissal in January.
  • Amorim was sacked with 18 months remaining on his contract after leading the club to their lowest league finish in over half a century, placing 15th.
  • The potential payout to Amorim may be reduced if he secures another job, among other factors, as disclosed in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • United also wrote off £6.3m in their accounts, representing part of the compensation paid to bring Amorim from Sporting CP, which cost €11m.
  • This adds to other significant payouts made by the club under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, including £14.5m for Erik ten Hag and his staff, and £4.1m for former sporting director Dan Ashworth.
