Kota Kinabalu: The Youth Wing of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) in Sukau said Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman’s (pic) decision to leave along with several of his supporters has no effect on the party’s strength.
Its chief, Badrul Hisham Juhari said: “We see this as an act that merely exposes their true colours before the political battle begins.
“For years, they sheltered under the GRS government banner, enjoying appointments and salaries from GLC positions.
“Now, after reaping all the benefits, they choose to turn their backs on the very government that supported them without regard for the people,” he said.
Badrul said Saddi’s political record speaks for itself.
“He hopped from Umno to Warisan, then as an Independent, to PGRS, and now back to Warisan. It clearly shows his struggle has never been for the people but for personal gain and lost power.”He added that during his three years as the division’s deputy chief, Saddi showed little commitment to grassroots work and often acted independently, particularly on local issues such as the Sukau New Town project.
PGRS Youth Wing in Sukau fully back Dato Juhari Janan, the Sukau Division Chief and sole GRS candidate for Sukau.
“Our machinery at all levels has been strengthened and is prepared to face any opponent in PRN17,” he said.
He added that with loyalty and people-centred commitment, Sukau would remain a stronghold for GRS and continue contributing to the coalition’s mission to maintain stability and progress in Sabah.
“This is the time to prove that loyalty is not measured by words, but by steadfast struggle even in adversity.
“We will not be swayed by those who appear only when in power and disappear when their interests fade.
“We stand with GRS because our fight is not for individuals, but for the future of Sukau and the beloved state of Sabah,” Badrul said.
