BEAUFORT: Pothole-ridden road at Jalan Kampung Bukau, near the junction to Kampung Lumadan, has been left unrepaired, posing a danger to road users, said former Sindumin community development leader Sani Miasin.

“Any vehicle passing through that road and hitting the pothole will almost certainly suffer a tyre puncture.”

Advertisement“There are many more potholes on the road that I did not manage to capture… I am simply helping to raise the issue with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of road users,” he said.

Sani, who is also the Sipitang KDM division chief, said the concessionaire and Public Works Department (PWD) must take immediate action as the road has been in poor condition for a long time.

It was learned a small vehicle recently nearly became stuck the pothole during a flood, causing one of the tyres to burst.

“I fear that emergency vehicles like fire engines, police cars, or ambulances could hit these screws. It would endanger their safety,” he said.
