Saifuddin: Immigration Dept on track to exceed RM5b revenue target this year

THE Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) is on course to exceed RM5 billion in revenue collection this year, continuing its strong contribution to government coffers over the past three years.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said JIM had collected RM2.6 billion in revenue as of June, with the figure expected to rise further by the end of the year.

He said the department’s achievement in collecting more than RM5.2 billion in revenue in 2025 had established JIM as one of the government’s key revenue contributors.

"JIM has consistently collected RM5 billion in revenue for three consecutive years," he said.

"The potential for increased revenue collection is already evident. As of June, we have collected RM2.6 billion, and by the end of the year, we expect to once again surpass this collection figure," he said.

Saifuddin was speaking at the 104th Immigration Day celebration themed "Melakar Wajah Baharu Imigresen" (Shaping a New Face for Immigration) on Tuesday.

Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Director-General of Public Service Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz and Immigration Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban.

Saifuddin said the department’s consistent revenue performance reflected its growing role as a major contributor to national finances while reinforcing efforts to improve Malaysia’s immigration administration and enforcement capabilities. - July 21, 2026
