Meet Arham Ishteyak, an Indian from Bihar, who has gone viral after sharing how his daily life in the United States differs from what he experienced back home. In an Instagram post, he reflected on how relocating abroad transformed his understanding of comfort and luxury.
The video was captioned: “Average life in Bihar vs average life in the USA. Same person… completely different reality.”
In the video, he said that many people in Bihar assume his life is completely ‘set’ as he has a good job, owns the latest iPhone, travels frequently and dresses well. However, he went on to explain that these are considered fairly ‘ordinary’ aspects of life for many people in the US.
“But literally, this is the average life here, average life. This is the life of the average people here,” he said, adding, “It can go far beyond this; we can reach far above this, but this is the literal average life here.”
