Samsung has pushed the One UI 8.5 system update to older devices recently, and you can find it available in your device if you’re living in selected regions (Yes, the rollout is not global, yet).
The extended list now includes the Galaxy S25 series (FE included), Galaxy S24 series (FE included), and the foldables Galaxy Z Fold7 / Flip7 / Fold6 / Flip 6. As for tablets, we see the Galaxy Tab S11 and S10 series.
For Malaysia, it is actually one of the earliest to get it, since devices are starting to get notified as early as May 11.
The One UI 8.5 is built to push Galaxy AI even further, as creative tools like Photo Assist can now provide continuous image generation and editing without the need to save each iteration, while also keeping a full edit history for easier selection later on. Sharing is also more intuitive, as Quick Share can now recognize people in photos and suggest recipients automatically, reducing friction when sending content across devices.
Meanwhile, Audio Broadcast leverages Auracast to stream audio – including live voice input – to nearby compatible devices, while Storage Share unifies access to files across Galaxy smartphones, tablets, PCs, and TVs directly within the My Files app. On the security front, new additions such as Theft Protection, Failed Authentication Lock, and expanded identity checks aim to strengthen device safety, particularly in scenarios involving unauthorized access or device loss.
