SHAH ALAM - Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has successfully defended the Kemaman parliamentary seat for Pas, according to unofficial results.
Samsuri faced a direct challenge from Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Tan Sri Raja Affandi Raja Noor, a retired general and former defence forces chief.
With a vote share of over 70 per cent, this victory marks PN's biggest win in Kemaman, surpassing its performance in the 2022 and 2018 elections.
The by-election was triggered by an election court decision on September 26, which annulled the victory of Pas candidate Che Alias Hamid in the 15th General Election (GE15) held last year.
