Yuvraj Singh has been elected as senior vice president and Pinky Rani as vice president of the Municipal Council (MC), Sanaur, in an election held on Monday.

Aam Aadmi Party halqa in-charge Ranjodh Singh Hadana was also present on the occasion when the elections to these posts were held at the MC office.

The general elections to the MC were held last year. Previously, Pardeep Josan was elected as the president of the local body. The newly appointed office-bearers were welcomed by party leaders, councillors and workers.

Congratulating the new office-bearers Ranjodh Singh Hadana said the Aam Aadmi Party valued dedicated workers committed to public service. He said Yuvraj Singh and Pinky Rani had been actively working for the party for a long time and expressed confidence that their appointment would bring greater transparency in the functioning of the MC and help address civic issues on priority.

He said pending works related to sanitation, sewage, clean drinking water supply, repair of roads and installation of street lights would be expedited by the local body.

Both Yuvraj and Rani thanked the party leadership and assured that they would work with honesty and dedication and ensure equal development in every ward of the town without discrimination. They also pledged to focus on issues concerning women and senior citizens.
