THE Sandiganbayan Sixth Division has suspended Uswag Ilonggo party-list Rep. James Ang Ditang Jr. for 90 days who is facing 14 counts of graft before the anti-graft court.
In a resolution promulgated Monday, Sept. 21, the Sandiganbayan said the requirements for preventive suspension under Section 13 of Republic Act 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, had been met.
Ang’s motion to quash the information was denied on Aug. 24. He pleaded not guilty on Sept. 1.
The suspension covers Ang’s membership in the House of Representatives and any other public position he may hold. It takes effect upon receipt of the resolution.
House Speaker Faustino Dy III was directed to implement the order and report to the Sandiganbayan within 15 days from receipt of the resolution on the action taken.
