KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department has activated a search-and-rescue (SAR) operation for an 18-month-old girl who is believed to have wandered into the woods and fallen into a river near Kg Batu 66 in Beaufort, this morning.
In a statement today, the department said it was alerted of the incident at 11.19am.
“During the incident, the victim’s parents were trading at Tamu Beaufort and the toddler was taken care of by her grandmother.
“The SAR operation is carried out along the river bank within a radius of 2km from the control post,” according to the statement.
The girl was last seen wearing a white top and dark blue pants. – Bernama, July 9, 2022
