MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte joked that someone at “68 years old already looks like a corpse” after being asked how she maintained her “radiant glow” despite political attacks during an interview in The Hague.
Duterte said she did not think there had been any noticeable change in her appearance since 2022, maintaining that she looked the same then as she does now and attributing any difference to becoming more conscious of aging.
“It’s difficult when you’re only 38 but already look 68,” Duterte said, before adding, “There’s someone we know who’s only 68 but looks like a corpse.”
Without identifying whom she was referring to, Duterte quickly added, “I’m not taking a swipe at anyone,” adding that she now uses skincare products prescribed by her dermatologist.
“I’ve been the same since 2022. In fact, even before 2022, I looked the same. It’s just that now I have become more aware of facial aging,” she said.
