SHAH ALAM, Sept 23 - The Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Sarawak’s Serian IPD is still very unhealthy at 217 as of 10pm, with the other 12 stations across Sarawak recording unhealthy readings, according to the API Management System (APIMS) portal.
The Serian IPD reading is the highest in Malaysia, followed by Kuching (190), Samarahan (185) and Sri Aman (173), with the lowest reading in Kapit (122).
The only other unhealthy API reading recorded outside Sarawak is in Melaka’s Bukit Rambai (104).
In Selangor, API readings at all six monitoring stations are moderate, the highest being in Johan Setia (82), followed by Kuala Selangor (72), Shah Alam (71), Petaling Jaya (69), Banting (65), and Klang (62).
Meanwhile, nine stations scattered across Terengganu, Pahang, Kelantan, Perlis and Kedah logged good readings, with the lowest in Besut and Langkawi (28).
An API reading of 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything above 301 is hazardous.
