PUTRAJAYA: A contractor from Sarawak won a whopping RM10.17 million Toto 4D Jackpot last month after placing his bets based on a dream.
The 54-year-old, a loyal Sports Toto customer who spent about RM50 a week for the last 30 years, said his winning numbers, 8622 and 5765, were inspired by a dream.
“It was only the second time I bet on these numbers. I never expected them to bring me such a huge win. I am still taking it in,” he said in a statement.
The father of two said he was having lunch near a renovation site when he noticed a Sports Toto outlet beside the restaurant.
“Something made me decide to buy the same numbers again. I did not think much of it at the time,” he said.
He said he was surprisingly calm the night he found out that he had struck the jackpot, and even slept well.
When asked about his plans for the winnings, the Sarawakian said he had yet to decide. However, he intends to set aside a portion for his children’s well-being.
“I believe it is important to plan carefully before making any major decisions,” he said.
