Kane and Haaland take centre stage
England expects again after World Cup fever struck in the early hours of Monday morning with a 3-2 victory over co-hosts Mexico. Norway now stand in the way of the semi-finals, with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland having scored seven goals in the competition. England captain Harry Kane is only one behind on six and progress could come down to who is the sharpest shooter in Miami. ITV coverage starts at 2045 with kick-off at 2200.
England target number one spot
Series over? Not quite. England may have wrapped up their T20 series against India with an insurmountable 3-0 lead, but there is still plenty at stake in the finale at Southampton’s Utilita Bowl. Another win would take Harry Brook’s side top of the T20 world standings a year or so out from the short format’s next World Cup. Sky Sports Main Event has coverage from 1400 with day two of the Women’s Test between England and India on Sky Sports Cricket from 1030.
Czech mates at Wimbledon final
There will be a sense of deja vu at the Wimbledon Ladies’ singles final. Or whatever they say in the Czech Republic about the feeling of having already experienced the situation. Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova, two new finalists, will contest an all-Czech clash. It means there will be a third Czech female champion at the All England club in four years after Marketa Vondrousova (2023) and Barbora Krejcikova (2024). ITV has a marathon day of Nations Championship rugby union action starting with New Zealand v Italy (0600) and following up with Australia v France (0810), Japan v Ireland (1040), Fiji v England (1320) and South Africa v Scotland (1620). Switch to ITV4 for coverage of Argentina v Wales (1930). It is day three at the Genesis Scottish Open (Sky Sports Golf, 1500) and at the women’s fourth major of the year, the Amundi Evian Championship (Sky Sports Golf, 0900). It is also stage eight of the Tour de France, a scenic 180km flat route from Perigueux to Bergerac (TNT Sports1, 1200), with racing on four wheels at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (Sky Sports F1, 0820).

2010: Spain won the World Cup, beating the Netherlands 1-0 after extra time in the Johannesburg final.
2017: Johanna Konta became Great Britain’s first semi-finalist in the Wimbledon women’s singles since 1978 when she beat Simona Halep 6-7 (2) 7-6 (5) 6-4.
2021: Italy beat England 3-2 on penalties to win the Euro 2020 final at Wembley, the match having finished 1-1 after 120 minutes.
