All 14 people on board were killed when a helicopter belonging to the state oil company Saudi Aramco crashed in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Energy Ministry said on Sunday, according to the state news agency SPA.
The 14 killed were all Saudi nationals, the ministry said, according to SPA.
It said investigations were under way to clarify the cause of the crash early today in Ras Tanura in the east. It is home to one of Saudi Aramco's most important refineries, with a major export terminal.
It was initially unclear whether it was an accident or a possible Iranian attack on the area. Iran has repeatedly attacked the kingdom's oil facilities in the ongoing war, including Ras Tanura and the huge Shaybah oil field.
