As a former Chairman of Parent Teacher Association for several primary and secondary schools, I realized school cadet programs (such as the Combined Cadet Force or the National Cadet Corps) provide major academic, personal, and social benefits for students. Studies show cadet programs strongly boost school attendance, reduce truancy, and lower school exclusion rates. The structured routines and discipline help improve focus in the classroom and overall academic performance. Students develop better time management, grooming habits, and respect for authority and seniority.

I enjoyed watching my primary six granddaughter, Ilfi Fatihah involvement with the PENARA (Perkemahan Nasional Di Udara) has developed her personal growth & wellbeing. She's more willing to take on responsibilities at home, in school and neighborhood that build public speaking, assertiveness and leadership talents. Ilfi revealed that “The practical life skills that I acquired from the cadet programs offer training in first aid, map-reading, outdoor survival, endurance sports, technical and musical activities. My participation noticeably increases resilience and emotional wellbeing.”

I am happy with Ilfi's sense of belonging which build strong peer connections and school pride through teamwork and shared challenges. Her participation in community service and parades fosters social responsibilities. Her involvement in school cadet strengthens boarding school applications, like her sister, Iffah Faizah & future prospects for enrollment with any local or foreign universities.

I've observed Ilfi's school cadet programs applied “Team of Teams” engagement that combined transparent communication with more decentralized decision-making authority. Traditionally, school cadet used the military-style programs which rely on a rigid, top-down command hierarchy. However adapting a “Team of Teams” model into a school cadet ecosystem creates a distinct operational culture driven by decentralized autonomy & shared consciousness. A “Team of Teams” approach forces horizontal collaboration. This uniqueness lies in transforming independent teams (e.g. the first-aid team, the drill team, the logistic team) into an interconnected network where information flow freely, and every student understand how their micro-mission impacts the macro-objective.
