“Since 2023, we have allocated RM5, 000 annually to each primary school and RM10, 000 to each secondary school in Penampang.
Additionally, special education schools also receive RM10, 000 annually as an administration grant.
“This effort continues in 2024 and this year the grant presentation will be held at SK Theresa Inobong and SK Babagon will certainly be among the schools receiving this contribution,” he said.
Regarding the Penampang Development Master Plan 2024-2035, which Ewon conceptualised through field findings by the Sabah Institute for Development Studies and the Penampang Parliamentary Service Centre, it will be an important input for government development planning and implementation of each rolling plan in the district.
“In my first two years as Penampang MP, I have implemented several development initiatives for Penampang and Upper Penampang area, namely Mukim Babagon and Mukim Moyog.
“These include land surveying under the first Pantas Programme in Kg Togudon, conversion of Kg Babagon land reserve, construction of the Kg Timpangoh Babagon concrete bridge, Tamu Desa premises and various small-scale public facilities projects.
“I am confident that SK Babagon alumni can also help succeed development in Penampang, particularly in the entrepreneurship, tourism and agricultural sectors which are very suitable for the mukim here,” he said.
