• Scotland will face Brazil for the fifth time at a World Cup in Miami on Wednesday evening.
• In the previous four encounters, Scotland have never managed to beat the five-time world champions.
• The first match between the two teams on the World Cup stage came in 1974 and ended in a 0-0 draw, but eight years later Brazil thrashed Scotland 4-1.
• In 1990, it was a much closer affair, but Brazil recorded a 1-0 win in Italy, while back in 1998, Brazil beat Scotland 2-1 before going on to reach the final.
• Scotland will hope it’s a case of fifth time lucky on Wednesday evening, although a draw is likely to be enough to secure their place in the knockout stages.
