Scottie Scheffler posted a scintillating round of 10-under par 60 on day two of the Travelers on Friday.
Scheffler heads into the weekend at TPC River Highlands with a two-shot lead over Viktor Hovland.
The 30-year-old world number one has only won once on the PGA Tour in 2026, but he has still enjoyed a remarkably impressive season.
The fact that Scottie Scheffler has one win and eight top-5 finishes to his name in 13 starts this year while not being anywhere near his best is testament to his unbelievable ability and competitive nature.

And if he keeps playing like he has done so far this week at the Travelers Championship, he will almost certainly move on to two wins for the season and 21 in total.
Scheffler was paired with Sam Burns during the first two rounds of the Travelers, and that was obviously a comfortable pairing for both players.
Whether Scottie Scheffler likes to chat with his playing partners
The man from Dallas, Texas, spoke to the media after his second round in Cromwell, Connecticut, on Friday which featured 11 birdies and a bogey.
Scheffler was asked by reporters how he feels about his playing partners talking to him during rounds, especially when he’s playing really well.
“I mean, I played with Si Woo at the Byron when he was on 59 watch. I don’t feel like he’d change anything,“ the world number one admitted.

“I’m not one that talks a ton on the course anyway, so if somebody wants to talk to me, I’m more than happy to chat. But if the other guy is in his own world, I kind of chill and don’t really do anything.
“I don’t really have a hard stance either way on that. For me, I don’t really feel like much changes.
“You know, when Si Woo was having that crazy round at the Byron, I just kind of acted normal. I don’t know, it’s not like you want to stay away from him. I don’t know. I just wouldn’t overthink it.“
Scottie Scheffler comments on how he felt before shooting 60
Scheffler was asked by one reporter whether he felt like he could go low before he teed off for his second round on Friday.
“Well, yeah, like you said, the conditions were really good this morning. Softer golf course, not as much wind.“ he replied.
“Going out yesterday in the afternoon, when the greens get firm out here and the wind starts to blow, it can get tricky pretty quickly.
“Yeah, going out this morning, you definitely had a feeling the conditions were going to be easier, so you need to go out there and try and take advantage of it.“
Scottie Scheffler will be hoping to shoot a low number on Saturday at the Travelers Championship in order to really stamp his authority on the tournament.
Given the position he’s currently in and the golf he has played this week at TPC River Highlands, he will surely secure his second win of the season this weekend.
